Senior Temporary Accommodation Officer
£30,451 – £32,910 per annum
37 hours per week
Nottingham City Homes manages more than 27,000 homes across the city on behalf of Nottingham City Council. Our vision is to ‘create homes and places where people want to live’.
In an increasingly difficult housing market, Nottingham City Homes need to innovate in order stay ahead of the increasing homelessness challenges rising demand for affordable homes. We are seeking to appoint a Senior Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our dedicated team based across Nottingham City. The role is pivotal in providing housing related support to residents in homeless family hostels and temporary accommodation properties across Nottingham City.
The key purpose of this role will be to support the Temporary Accommodation Manager in the day-to-day management and supervision of our hostel accommodation, including Highwood House, dispersed properties and other nightly paid temporary accommodation.
You will be responsible for leading, developing and supervising a team of Temporary Accommodation Officers (TAO’s), providing housing related support to homeless families; to sustain future tenancies; help residents to find permanent move-on accommodation and minimise repeat homelessness. We will also look to you to maximise rental collection from all temporary accommodation properties.
The ideal candidate will have experience of supervising a front-line team, as well as knowledge and understanding of working with a complex and challenging client base. Knowledge and experience of resettling and supporting homeless families and related issues is essential to this role, as is a solid understanding of welfare benefits.
The role will involve dealing with customers who can at times be challenging and therefore you will need to have the confidence to deal with both difficult and sensitive issues, such as domestic violence and anti-social behaviour. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and determined individual to join our growing Temporary Accommodation team, helping some of Nottingham’s most vulnerable groups.
In exchange you can expect a rewarding professional career where personal development is actively encouraged and supported. We offer exceptional company benefits within a very people focused business environment as well as a modern working environment with a strong emphasis on work life balance.
