Salary: Circa £55,000

We are recruiting for a lawyer who loves to work in the data privacy space. You’ll have a passion for understanding this area of law, its benefits for our members & customers and ultimately a passion for getting it right. You’ll be busy with projects, data queries and process improvement- but you will also have a wider role working closely with those responsible for systems, operations and business decisions. In order to succeed in this role, you have to enjoy business & working with people.

You’ll be a part of a wider legal team who focus on a wide variety of legal matters. We are a growing team with a focus on providing best in class solutions and a down-to-earth legal support and leadership.

This is what your role looks like:-

  • You’ll work as part of the data privacy team, reporting to the Data Privacy Lead, who has overall responsibility for data privacy strategy, operations & processes. You will be responsible for advising on a broad spectrum of issues but will have a particular focus on proactively advising stakeholders on compliance with all relevant data protection legislation, including the Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, and other guidance published by regulatory bodies, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office.
  • You will also support the Data Privacy Lead in providing training to business stakeholders on the basics of data protection, identifying risks, and the internal policies and procedures the business must follow. The role will also support and lead on systems that support data protection processes within the business ensuring an appropriate input for compliance and Management Information analysis.

You will be a qualified lawyer and you will have experience of working with organisations on data privacy generally. You could be from an in-house background or private practice. You will bring with you a strong understanding of regulatory expectations and have worked with businesses in this area in the past.
