Lewisham College is looking for an Employability and Progression Officer to support our students in their progression journey to jobs, apprenticeships and further study/university. The role will provide one to one and group support around employability skills including CVs/ interview preparation, application to university/UCAS and progression options. The postholder will require excellent organisation and administration/IT skills as they will support with project work such as collection of data around careers and progression as well as assisting with event organisation including arranging external speakers (e.g. employers) and cross college events such as Careers Fairs. The Employability and Progression Officer will have strong interpersonal and communication skills as they will liaise with our diverse cohort of students, staff and parents/carers. The successful candidate will have experience in guidance work, a good knowledge of the UK education and skills landscape and current developments in careers education, information advice and guidance. The postholder will assist with the college's outreach work including visits to local schools and education providers. The ability to produce written copy and promotion material for activities is essential and ideally the successful candidate will have some experience of public speaking and being able to deliver engaging presentations to groups. The role is part of our Student Support Team and this role will work closely with our Careers Advisor to deliver high quality careers and employability development to students across the college.
